Welcome to Fall 2019

We have successfully started new season with additional Level 2 class for those who have taken beginner Samba before or have other samba background. These classes run on Mondays from 8 to 9.30 pm at The Dance Centre (4 floor).

Our BEGINNER series has moved to Baza Dance Studios on Wednesdays, 6 to 7 pm. Join the drop-in classes for the basics, tons of footwork and explanation.

Vancouver Samba School is now an official coordinator for the International Samba Day 2019 flashmob, so, we will learn official choreo in both classes and record by December (depends on the progress). Location and dates of filming will be announced later.

Vancouver Samba Birds Team practices will commence on September 20 at Harbour Dance Studios at 7.45 pm. E-mail or message if you are interested to be part of it.

#BrazilianFair2019 on September 2, 2019

Brazilian Fair 2019 is here!

Organized by The General Consulate of Brazil in Vancouver, this amazing event for all Vancouverites, guests and tourists, families and friends will take place right in Downtown Vancouver.

Vancouver Samba School will be present at the Event as a vendor, performer and part of our multicultural Brazilian community. Yes, we are a multicultural team, but we love Brazil and love Samba. So, we bring its colours, energy and beauty live in Vancouver.

Come on down to Roundhouse Community Centre Plaza (shine) or The Centre itself (rain) on Monday, September 2. This is why we have Long Weekends, right? – to fully enjoy them and “dive into another culture” and “to travel abroad” while in Vancouver.

For information about classes, see us at Vancouver Samba School booth.

NOTE FROM THE CONSULATE OF BRAZIL:
Anunciamos oficialmente a BRAZILIAN FAIR 2019 !!!

Brazilian Samba First Class Overview

Vancouver Samba School | First Class | March 25, 2019

Open House Class was a Great Success!!

It did not matter what your dance level, your age, gender or position at work were… We all have enjoyed dancing Samba so much that the smiles did not come off our faces even for hours after the class.

I want to personally thank everyone who found time to join the class and had enough interest to try Brazilian Samba. Everyone of you mattered a lot and made the atmosphere of the event special.

Yes, we only had 1 hour to learn as much as I could teach you and you could learn in the class, and this hour went by so fast. I was amazed how great everyone did endured the fun.

Yes, there were people who took their first ever dance lesson in life and those who perform professionally. Those people were equally happy and satisfied.

And yes, more classes to come.

The Beginner Intro starts on April 1st, Monday, at 7.30 to 9 PM.

1.5 hours class of footwork, body isolation, hand positioning, patterns, sequences and a small dance routine are coming.

Join the “club” 🙂
